Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.

We have received 3 reports of residential burglaries this week where rear windows and a patio door have been smashed. Items targeted are jewellery. Whilst we have been completing work in the area, please check any CCTV you may have and get in touch if you have anything of interest. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk

Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
Vehicle seized on Watling Street by officers on patrol at 23:55 on the 2nd of February due to no insurance (S165).
We have spent time this week completing patrols and dealing with recent anti-social behaviour reports (criminal damage, neighbours disputes). Since our last update, we have received 33 calls to Police which include 3 emergency calls and 9 priority calls. These calls were a mixture of residential burglary, domestic and concern for welfare.
We have also completed further patrols around school areas to address the dangerous parking, several more tickets issued. We have spoken to a lot of drivers and given advice to move, it is disappointing to get confused and angry responses when requested to move. We would hope that anyone that has a driving licence, understands the dangers of parking on junctions, Zigzags and pavements at school times, or perhaps not. We continually make the point that we are trying to prevent an accident, and it is also the responsibility of motorists/parents to keep their children safe.
Patrols on foot around the immediate school area and the flowers estate off the junction of Sketchley Road/Azalea Drive.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Following a few residential burglaries this week that appear to have happened in the evening, please ensure that if you are out for the day, or no one is in your property for a few days, please use alarms, window alarms, light timers, and remove/hide high value items such as jewellery. If you have an elderly family member that is currently not living at their address, please remove these types of items as unoccupied properties can easily draw attention. Please also look out for your neighbours if they are away.
Awareness regarding AI phone scams (as recommended by a resident to raise awareness) If you are interested in keeping updated on the newest scams, and protecting yourself, you can check out the below link to Which? And sign up for the scam alert service. Beware of AI survey phone scams - Which?
Thank you and take care.
